Nothing but Concert Updates Update
- It's that time of year folks....
- Rush have announced what may be their last full fledged tour - from the press release:
Now Rush say via a press release: “These not-to-be-missed concerts will
highlight four decades of the band’s music. This will most likely be
their last major tour of this magnitude.”
Scheduled to hit the AAC (inside as it should be) in May.
- Originally I was reading that Slipknot would be touring with Hatebreed. But it looks as if it will be Lamb of God and several others. And the last currently scheduled date for the US is at Starplex in Sept.
- Faith No More have announced their first dates since 2005, all on the West Coast at this point. But I am waiting.........
- Mark Knopfler has announced a full fledged tour hitting the Majestic in Sept. If tickets are not outrageously overpriced I am interested.
- Greg Allmann has announced a full fledged tour, including Nokia in GP in May. This guy just might pull a Sandman one day.
- Looks like there will be plenty to see this year - I will be watching Stubhub vehemently.

Tuesday Updates
- "Maiden Audio" is coming along with headphones. Not too many details as of yet - I just hope they don't enter KISS territory with their merchandising.
- Iron Maiden has however entered fashion territory along with the likes of Misfits, Bob Marley etc. Basically it has become fashionable for people to wear their gear without even knowing who they are.
- I have been a little confused on this subject but according the website Crues last show is actually at The Staples Center - everyone keeps mentioning the Whiskey A Go Go but I think that is more of an after concert thing. Not that their might not be a "after show" their mind you.
- Since I started it here it is - The Bucket List - I will keep it updated accordingly:
Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Show(s) Chicago Field (recently announced)
Billy Joel at MSG
VIP tickets to a major festival ( I am talking all out here)
Tickets for That Metal Show
Flogging Molly in L.A.
Dropkick Murphy's secret show in Boston

- The Black Crowes have broken up (again), in what is becoming a more familiar theme, over "ownership" of the band.
- Motley Crue have officially announced their final show, Dec. 31st at The Whiskey A Go Go. I really need to hit the lottery soon. Billy Joel at MSG, VIP tix to a couple of festivals, all those shows that never make it to DFW........
- Kim Fowley, best know for forming and managing The Runaways, has passed on to the Great Concert Hall in the sky - he has also been infamously credited for something that has been greatly distorted since the arrival of the smart phone - see below.

Thursday Updates
- So the DMB is planning two full sets on each of their stops on their upcoming tour, including Austin. I know followers of "Dave" have probably already had an accident in their pants at this point. Not a bad show necessarily but you cold probably leave after the first set - the good news is that their shows are never scripted and you will hear a completely different set of songs each set and probably each stop of the show.
- A couple of the original (and former) members of Heart are forming Heart by Heart. If they have the blessing of Ann and Nancy they are probably fine - if not......
- Look for Pete Way vs. Waysted soon in the Battle of the Dueling Bands.
- That Metal Show will return next month for it's 14th SEASON. Dispute rumors to the contrary, the reports of the death of rock and metal in general have been greatly exaggerated.
- Unfortunately, in what is becoming not a quite as rare scenario as it used to be, I currently have no tickets to any shows to attend. But I do have a couple in mind including "An Evening with Alice Cooper".

Friday Updates
- Major Battle of the Dueling Bands news here! Apparently the Little River Band still exists without any of it's original founding members - AND insert the power down sound now.
- Interesting article on Elvis' seven appearances in Fort Worth in the Startle-gram. Excerpt below:
"On one of the early 1955 visits, Presley’s car ran out of gas on North Main Street, and he walked alone to the coliseum (Tarrant County Convention Center).
By his return in 1956, it took 20 police officers to guard him."
- Previous to his diagnosis with dementia, and post Black Ice Tour, Malcolm Young was treated for cancer AND had a pacemaker installed. You know what they say - if you ain't got your health......

Thursday Updates
- Well I searched on this before posting my end of year retrospect but it turns out Casey Kasem was finally buried mid December. He was buried in Norway and his kids did not know of it until the day before services, so obviously they did not have time to get there. Of course as previously stated on this blog there was absolutely no reason to bury him in Norway - except for his widow to spite his children. This ain't over folks....
- I want this shirt before Christmas next year. If you know what song it is you know what I am talking about.
- Is music going to get to the point of either being super cheap or just flat out free? Youtube is currently involved in litigation over licensing but I have never not found anything I want to listen to on there. With an array of customizable streaming options on the market as well it is hard to not find anything you want to hear. You do have the option to "buy" (CD, MP3 download etc.) music you if you want to actually own it- but you don't necessarily have to own it to be able to hear it on demand - legally.

Hello 2015!
- Especially to you people who don't realize Sebastian Bach is no longer in Skid Row - since 1996.
- Anybody who goes to see a band in this day and age, and doesn't research who actually may still be in the band, could be in for some rude awakenings.
- A fan is suing Live Nation over an injury that occurred in 2012 at a Lamb of God show. Basically he was caught in the mosh pit and got trampled - I just read the "back" on a ticket and it states that "the holder voluntarily assumes all risk with respect to danger of personal injury".
- Pretty soon you will have to sign a waiver to get in the mosh pit - or they will be abolished completely.
- So who's album was Breakin' the Chains? The Lynch/Dokken feud goes all the way back to the beginning......
