It's about to get hot here Friday updates

  • I have tickets for the Motley Crue show in mid-July at Starplex - I don't plan on going to anything else there after that. Unfortunately Soundgarden and NIN are scheduled there in mid-August but it is just too damn hot in that place in the summer.
  • Those Buffet tickets at the Coyote are dropping in price daily.
  • It has been six weeks since KISS was inducted and they are still bitching. I am finding it extremely hard to support anything the do at this point.
  • So Rex joined Phil and Zakk last Friday for "I'm Broken" for the closing number of the BLS set. I got to see half of Pantera - and that is probably about as close as you'll ever get. Vinnie Paul ain't going to do it.
  • If you are a fan of S.O.A. Marilyn Manson will be joining the cast - as a white supremacist.
  • Here we go - Steve Perry recently made a return to stage after 18 years this week making a surprise appearance with the Eels (remember 'Novocaine for the Soul'?) - and current Journey frontman Pineda thinks he should come back to Journey in some form or fashion.

Memorial Day Weekend Updates

  • Now the infamous RRHOF is being sued - by former members of Heart Mark Andes and Denny Carmassi. Only Heart's original lineup was included but apparently the images of the aforementioned were used for promotion purposes.
  • IF tickets for Buffett at the Coyote get much cheaper - it will be very tempting......
  • Tonight is BLS - I think I may have seen Zakk Wylde, as a member of both Ozzy's band and BLS, more than anyone else. I might be able to say the same thing about Ozzy himself however. Down is opening the show - expect at least one Pantera song with both Phil and Zakk.
  • Have a good Memorial Day weekend and remember what the holiday is about - in memoriam of men and women who died while serving, many of them during conflict, so that we may live in a free country, where we can do things like rant on blogs like this and you can in turn have the right to disagree with such!!!

This has actually been around quite a while now....

And it ain't the first time they have been accused of such. They just borrow things and perfect them anyways....

Casey Kasem "Missing"

It looks like Casey has been "removed" from the country by his wife Jean. Casey is suffering from Parkinson's disease and is basically debilitated. His wife and children are fighting over his estate and he was removed without his children's knowledge, who claimed they have been denied access to him for many years now. HOWEVER a judge has now ruled one of his daughters his temporary conservator and has ordered his whereabouts to be disclosed. Link.

Updates Part Dos

  • So Winger blames Beavis and Butthead/Mike Judge for ruining their career and has "forgave" them. If you wouldn't have put out that bubble gum pop metal crap in the first place it wouldn't have happened - and your timing was terrible.
  • One day Robert Plant is going to refuse to answer any questions about Led Zeppelin. Link
  • Iron Maiden's Trooper beer has sold five million pints - very hard to find around her but I got a hold of five of those.
  • 40 years ago this week Led Zeppelin launched Swan Song records. Obviously all of their work from Physical Graffiti on was released on this label. Several other artists, including Bad Company and Dave Edmunds, were signed as well. Eventually after the death of Bonham and the release of Robert and Jimmy's first solo efforts the label folded.
  • That 5 million dollar Wu-Tang album is apparently in a vault in Morocco.  Is this all a joke?
  • Queensryche has released their statement regarding the settlement with Geoff Tate -
"The band will buy out their former lead singer's share of the Queensrÿche corporation while allowing him the ability to be the only one to perform Operation: Mindcrime and Operation: Mindcrime II in their entirety. He will no longer have use of the TriRyche logo or any other album images aside from the Mindcrime releases. He can only refer to himself as the "Original Lead Singer of Queensrÿche or "Formerly of Queensrÿche" for a period of two years and that text must be at least 50% smaller than his name in all materials. After this two year period passes, he can only refer to himself as Geoff Tate with no mention of Queensrÿche at all. Geoff Tate will be able to finish any confirmed dates billed for his Queensrÿche lineup scheduled to terminate on August 31st, 2014.

"As of September 1st, there will be only one Queensrÿche entity and that will consist of Eddie Jackson, Todd LaTorre, Parker Lundgren, Scott Rockenfield and Michael Wilton. This lineup will continue to perform selections from their entire musical catalog including songs from Operation: Mindcrime. The band will be able to use all TriRyche logos and previous album artwork for any purposes as needed by the corporation."

Updates Part Uno

  • Glenn Danzig and The Misfits (or should we say Jerry Only and some other guys) are going at it over merchandising rights. Apparently Danzig is suing over the "fiend" logo - which is actually the Crimson Ghost logo, which Danzig adapted for the Misfits in the first place from the Crimson Ghost serials. Want to know the real reason why-

    • Steppenwolf & John Kay's Steppenwolf

  • It looks like Steve Young, Malcom's nephew, will be filling in for him. He actually has replaced him on tour previously, for reasons unknown to me.
  • So there was a note, previously unseen, that was released by Seattle police from Kurt Cobain's death scene mocking his marriage to Courtney. And now Courtney claims to be the author - this make sense since she wrote all of Nirvana's songs anyway....... I am not even sure what to say about this one. The word delusional comes to mind.
  • And tomorrow - more Queensryche news!!!!

Friday Updates

  • Ratt may be about to implode. Stephen has left the band (again), the new album is in jeopardy and there are apparently legal and monetary ramifications. And somebody on Wikipedia loves Ratt - they have all former members listed (and there are a lot) including temporary fill ins and anyone who auditioned.
  • So Geoff Tate's final show as Queensryche featuring Geoff Tate has turned in to a full fledged tour, including Dallas. And that whole thing about who owns the rights to what song, can't anyone play anything they want live anyways?
  • The Yardbirds were listed in the Just Announced shows in the Friday morning paper. You read that right.
  • Budgie and Silversun Pickups always screw with my head - the lead singers for each sound like they could be women.
  • I cannot stand Jack Johnson. How he has gained such a reputation is beyond me. I tried to listen to him but I just can't.
