Thursday Updates

  • In one of the few times I will promote a facebook page - John 5's house was burglarized and a number of his guitars were stolen and he is seeking any help he can get in recovering. If you haven't listened to Mr. 5's solo works, not discounting his work with Manson and Zombie (and others), you are missing out....
  • Todd La Torre's version of Queensryche has postponed their spring tour. The only reason I am really mentioning this is because it had to go to three different sites to figure out which version of Queensryche it was.
  • Huey Lewis has announced a 30th anniversary tour! Said no one I know Part 2
  • Dave Mustaine has announced Kenny G is a shredder after attending one his shows. In between this and his fondness for Nickelback it makes one wonder if he is just screwing with our head sometimes.
  • Texas is joining the fight over ticket legislation. Not many details yet but apparently the Houston Stockshow got wind of George Strait tickets being resold on the open market above face value and canceled the original purchasers tickets and resold them (I believe at face value). The issue at hand is once an individual has purchased a ticket to an event it becomes personal property of the purchaser and therefore that individual may choose to participate in the FREE ENTERPRISE system. There are numerous other issues that go along with this which I have wrote about before, a few links below to guide you:

Clive Burr Correction

So there was a Clive Burr tribute on XM Liquid Metal this weekend and he in fact drummed on the first THREE Iron Maiden albums, with the third obviously being The Number of the Beast. Woe to you of earth and sea who does not do their own research and relies on other info.....

Interesting fact: Clive Burr went on to play drums for Trust (among others) - Trust's current drummer at that time was none other than Nicko McBrain, Maidens drummer ever since Clive left! Thanks to Ian Christe for the correction (and loads of other info concerning the late Mr. Burr)!

Friday Updates

  • Iron Maiden's original drummer, Clive Burr, passed away this week. Maiden is one of my favorite bands and the first two albums that Clive appeared on are definitely in my top 5 Maiden albums. Use the link at your left for more info...
  • A Volbeat fan died attempting to sneak into their concert in Lubbock. After being denied entry, he climbed a security fence, ran from the staff and attempted a 20ft. jump across a "gap" and fell and hit his head on the concrete and later died at the hospital. They believe alcohol was involved as well......
  • Bush has finally announced 2013 tour dates! said no one I know - unfortunately the mindless masses will show up......
  • Both Suicidal Tendencies (only original member Mike Muir is left) and Black Sabbath are releasing albums titled "13". There is actually and entire Wikipedia page dedicated to such.
  • Tennessee has passed the Fairness In Ticketing Act which basically forces resellers to validate ticket face values, location and whether they have tickets in hand or not.

Queensryche turncoat!!!

Glen Drover, who had left Geoff Tate's version of Queensryche basically before it even got started, has in turn made a guest appearance with the Todd La Torre camp. Although he wished Geoff's version the best of luck he touted his guest appearance as "with the REAL Queensryche".

Monday Updates

  • Because I forgot to post them Friday.....
  • Morrissey is getting really snobby, it's OK to be a vegetarian (or whatever he is)without forcing your fans to be one-a request the Staple Center is partially honoring for an upcoming concert. He probably shouldn't mess with Kimmel too much either...
  • Eric Clapton announced he is retiring soon - again. I believe several years ago he announced he is retiring from "touring" - he currently has 46 dates listed on Pollstar.
  • Scott Weiland is claiming the whole being fired from STP is a publicity stunt....
  • The Mark McGrath and Friends tour has been canceled! With the exception of Cracker being one of the bands playing they probably would have had to pay me to go see any of the bands listed - especially Sugar Ray.
