Friday Updates

  • Major Battle of the Dueling Bands news here! Apparently the Little River Band still exists without any of it's original founding members - AND insert the power down sound now.
  •  Interesting article on Elvis' seven appearances in Fort Worth in the Startle-gram. Excerpt below:
"On one of the early 1955 visits, Presley’s car ran out of gas on North Main Street, and he walked alone to the coliseum (Tarrant County Convention Center).
By his return in 1956, it took 20 police officers to guard him."

  • Previous to his diagnosis with dementia, and post Black Ice Tour, Malcolm Young was treated for cancer AND had a pacemaker installed. You know what they say - if you ain't got your health......

Thursday Updates

  • Well I searched on this before posting my end of year retrospect but it turns out Casey Kasem was finally buried mid December. He was buried in Norway and his kids did not know of it until the day before services, so obviously they did not have time to get there. Of course as previously stated on this blog there was absolutely no reason to bury him in Norway - except for his widow to spite his children. This ain't over folks....
  • I want this shirt before Christmas next year. If you know what song it is you know what I am talking about.

  • Is music going to get to the point of either being super cheap or just flat out free? Youtube is currently involved in litigation over licensing but I have never not found anything I want to listen to on there. With an array of customizable streaming options on the market as well it is hard to not find anything you want to hear. You do have the option to "buy" (CD, MP3 download etc.) music you if you want to actually own it- but you don't necessarily have to own it to be able to hear it on demand - legally.

Hello 2015!

  • Especially to you people who don't realize Sebastian Bach is no longer in Skid Row - since 1996.
  • Anybody who goes to see a band in this day and age, and doesn't research who actually may still be in the band, could be in for some rude awakenings.
  • A fan is suing Live Nation over an injury that occurred in 2012 at a Lamb of God show. Basically he was caught in the mosh pit and got trampled - I just read the "back" on a ticket and it states that "the holder voluntarily assumes all risk with respect to danger of personal injury".
  • Pretty soon you will have to sign a waiver to get in the mosh pit - or they will be abolished completely.
  • So who's album was Breakin' the Chains? The Lynch/Dokken feud goes all the way back to the beginning......
