Rock History Friday.....and butts
- Sting is worth a shitload of money, but I put him in the same category as Morrissey - without the whining. You can pick grapes on his farm however, and pay him for it. It actually sounds worse than it really is - it is just like any other vacation excursion you would pay for.
- Dave Davies may want just want to get back together and do some Kinks stuff - that doesn't necessarily mean a tour mind you.
- Click here for an interview with the HSAS members. Some cite as the greatest one-off band ever. I'll take Blind Faith thank you very much.
- Click here for the Loverboy 'Get Lucky' butt story.
- Here and here for more butt album covers.
- On this day in Beatles history:
- '59 -The Quarrey Men performed the opening night at The Casbah Coffee Club.
- '65 -The Beatles played The Hollywood Bowl, which eventually went on to the live album bearing the same name (tickets were $3.00).
- '66 - Played live to their last paying audience ever at Candlestick Park. John and Paul knew this would be their last "show" and brought cameras to take pictures of the audience in between songs.

Things that I doubt....
- The Kinks rumour mill is swirling again. It was incorrectly stated that Ray said they were getting back together "with or without Dave" which Ray himself has refuted.
- According to Joe Lynn Turner there is a possibility that Rainbow will reunite - but he is not allowed to talk about it (then why is it on this blog??). Blackmore has continually refused to talk about any work other than Blackmore's Night, his medieval music project.
- Robert Plant hinted that his new album may be the end of his career.
- Of the three above my guess is the most least likely to happen will be Plant retiring. The other two I would put at extremely low odds, however Dave Davies has been open to discussing a Kinks reunion. That Rainbow thing came from out of nowhere but I'm in if it does!
- The one thing I don't doubt - one year from today will mark the 25th year we have been without one of the greatest Texas musicians ever.

And while I was away
- Update-I had to delete the blog hiatus/Morrissey rant - it was seriously messing up this post for some reason - maybe it was depressed.
- AND Geoff Tate won't shut up about Queensryche claiming their firing of him is career suicide and he is the "winner" in this situation. This guy is a little full of himself - and I think they will do just fine.
- AND for some bizarre reason Casey Kasem's wife had decided to bury his body in Norway, which he had absolutely no ties to. Oslo officials are rethinking this decision after his children protested the situation. More madness here.
- Here is a list of of the "best" live albums of all time. Ok I am a huge Zeppelin fan but there is no way The Song Remains the Same should be on here. And where is Unleashed in the East? Also this website is based in Canada - and no Rush-don't they have like 50 live albums?? Kudos on the J. Geils Band however.....
- And we will leave you with the officially titled "Worst Music Video Ever" - is the drummer even trying? And that chick needs to eat some food!

Thursday Updates
- The RRHOF is becoming more clueless by the minute. DJ Alan Freed's ashes will/have been removed from the facility - but there is a new Beyonce exhibit!!!
- Ian Gillian has "heard" that Deep Purple has not been inducted into the RRHOF because they are one hit wonders. Ian just wants to know exactly which one hit they are referring to.....
- List of clueless "expert" panels:
- RRHOF
- Recording Academy Voting Members (Grammy's)
- Motion Picture Ratings Association of America
- Pro Football Hall of Fame (they have gotten better over the years but there was a serious "East Coast bias" at one time.)
- According to Marianne Faithfull her then boyfriend drug dealer was responsible for Jim Morrison's death.
- Sign this petition - to have Weird All perform at the Superbowl halftime show.
- According to biographer Jessie Fink Malcolm Young is simply to ill to return to AC/DC - ever. Whatever is wrong with Malcolm the AC/DC camp is keeping a very tight lid on the situation.

Friday Updates
- Primus is playing at the Majestic Theater in November. I have seen Primus several times - BUT for various reasons I have never seen a full show.
- If you haven't been to The Majestic - it is probably one of the nicest venues you will ever see a show at - as seen below.
- 70's Pop Quiz!!
- Pretty good list of essential albums you should own, slightly mainstream but diverse - but you should never put a greatest hits/best of album on such. And I could have changed a few artists albums out for different ones - Abbey Road comes to mind instead of Sgt. Peppers. I have quite a few of these in my collection.
- And below you will find Paul's Boutique - deconstructed. Awesome stuff!
