Album Cover Secrets

I have stared at the Somewhere In Time "album" cover numerous times over the years...Album Cover Secrets

They did not include Moving Pictures by Rush however:

1. There are people moving pictures.
2. There are people crying because the pictures are emotionally moving.
3. There is a crew filming "moving pictures". (Back)

Smashing Pumpkins Bassist

The latest bassist for the Smashing Pumpkins, Nicole Fiorentino, is not one of the Siamese Dreams girls. I am continually seeing this on the internet and would like to put this issue to rest. Nicole was born in 1979 and Siamese Dream was released in 1993, Nicole would have been 13 or 14 because the cover was shot specifically for the album....

Album Cover Babies

What is it with Billy Corgan and female bassists anyways?

Get your random updates here....

  • A Perfect Circle, Peter Gabriel, Black Country Communion all have US dates including a couple in Grand Prarie-I am still waiting on The Cars and THE BIG FOUR dates...
  • Sammy Hagar was abducted by aliens-that would explain his multiple personality disorder: Red Rocker, love songy Van Hagar, Cabo Wabo mini Buffet, and now supergroup member. Do supergroups ever work out or last long? Nonetheless I have seen Sammy several times (in several different versions) and would do so again-Sammy Abducted!
  • Pinetop Perkins dies in Austin...Pinetop
  • Once again there is a shitload of shows slated for the DFW area this year-you can start here with 12 pages of shows going into October.

  • Slipknot has permanently replaced Paul Gray with Donnie Steele, apparently the band's original bassist.
  • Paul Di'anno, Maiden's original singer has been jailed for "disability benefits fraud"
  • Dave Matthews First Caravan is set-there is an impressive lineup including Flaming Lips & O.A.R.if that is part of your musical tastes-http://www.dmbcaravan.com/
  • Kenny Chesney's tour is fixing to start-got to get ready for that beating. But to make up for it I have 40th row for Buffett, you know the guy who Chesney wants to be...
  • Nate Dogg killed by death-multiple strokes.
  • James Taylor broke a leg-and not the good luck show biz thing either
  • All the above stories are on Pollstar
  • And finally I am convinced that I can become a music star. All I need is Autotune-it's the idiocracy of the music world.

Every Nickelback wikipedia edit ever..

Or so it says

Nickelback edits

Among the jewels:

In 2003 Dave Mustaine and Kerry King teamed up to and kicked Nickelbacks frontmans ass on stage..

Nickelback has only written one song, they just keep changing the lyrics to it.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Man these guys are going crazy-first off the current Crosby & Nash tour. Second Neil Young is embarking on a small (I think) solo tour. Then Buffalo Springfield is supposedly going to tour which would throw Stills back in the mix with former members. With all that being said who knows how long all four of them will be around.....

5 Artistic Geniuses Who Only Became Great After Selling Out

Selling Out

Although this article does bring up some interesting points I take it with a grain of salt.

  • So the Beatles changed "everything about themselves" and then got big-real big. So what do you call it the second time around when they changed again i.e. after they discovered hallucinogenic drugs.
  • The only two Nirvana albums I really listen to are Bleach and Insecticide
  • The Sex Pistols didn't change the face of music, although they were extremely popular for a short period of time. The New York Punk Scene- and those that followed, LA, Washington DC etc. are were where the real punk music was made. Where would we be without The Ramones, Misfits and Bad Brains just to name a few. Not that there is nothing wrong with a good Sex Pistols song I just get tired of them getting all the credit.
  • What the hell is "selling out" anyways....

Concert Updates

  • So the US leg of the Crue/Poison tour is opening up in Dallas at Starplex. I have seen both bands numerous times but the New York Dolls are opening up.
  • System of a Down has announced US tour dates with more promised soon-and Gogol Bordello is their special guest-might I get to see them twice in one year.
  • I believe I heard that the mighty Judas Priest has began their final tour over in Europe-check that, there are dates scheduled but nothing for the US yet.
  • There is just a shitload of tours and festivals being announced right now......check Pollstar for all updates.

Live Nation Reports Losses Tripled

What does this mean? I think nothing right away because I think it will take another year of losses to have a dramatic effect. And since Tickemaster and Live Nation are the same company......
